RAW ARTISTIC SOUL - Miami Theme & Fela Brasil
This sizzling EP “Miami Theme / Fela Brasil” is RAW ARTISTIC SOUL’s follow up to their highly successful “Zaab” release. Phil Kullmann’ s original of “Miami Theme” is a lush brass- and guitar-fueled instrumental tune with catchy and kicking baseline. Since it was included on our “Spring Collection 06” it enjoyed a huge buzz all around and was called a musical highlight in various reviews. It’s in the bag of countless tastemakers, like Jamie Lewis, who used the track as opener for his “Mykonos 2006” CD compilation. Now the story continues with stunning remixes by Ralf GUM and Roberto De Carlo.

GOGO Music head Ralf GUM delivers a blissed out rework that firmly attracts the crowd to the floor. His twisted “Sax Lick Dub” is a steadily building journey with uber-cool bouncing beats. The deep rhodes-keys and phat baseline are the perfect soundbed for the cut-up and looped Saxophone. A track with great effect, that’s already proving to be a winner.

Roberto De Carlo’s “soul-infused remix” is a simply gorgeous sounding interpretation. Complete with soulful keys, synth, funky bass, disco elements and stomping beats, it will make it on the decks of all funky house DJs and will send a true house loving crowd into a frenzy.

Included as well on this 12 Inch and much more than just a bonus track is “Fela Brasil”. It was one of the highligths of RAW ARTISTIC SOUL’s first album “What About Love”. The now updated version is an infectious south-amercian tune with wonderful instrumentation full of live, that can't fail to bring a smile to your face. A song drenched in summer time good vibes and one surely getting plays on all beach- and pool sessions.

The new package includes two hot remixes as well as the bounus track "Fela Brasil". Roberto De Carlo adds his classic soulful touch and some jazzy elements in his "Soul-infused remix", while Ralf GUM's "Sax lick dub" is a fantastic crowd pleaser, with an irresistible driven groove, wiked keys and infectious looped saxophone. Erstmalig trat dieses Stück auf der Spring Collection 2006 auf GOGO in Erscheinung. Die Nachfrage zog Remixarbeiten nach sich, so dass jetzt folgerichtig die Maxi mit zwei weiteren Mixen und einem Bonustrack veröffentlicht wird. Das Original ist bassorientiert gestaltet und mit vielerlei begleitenden Elementen wie Saxophonen und anderen Bläsern, Funk-Gitarre und noch mehr Deep House-Kleinigkeiten ausgestattet. Roberto Di Carlo setzt Disco und verstärkt Synthies ein und entfacht weiteren dancefloorkompatiblen Drive, klingt trotzdem irgendwie soulig. Ralf Gum setzt auf bouncende Beats, sehr catchy und sicherlich das Stück, zu dem die Leute steil gehen werden. Bei dem Rhodes-Einsatz kein Wunder. "Fela Brasil" weist MAW-Charakter mit trommelig breakenden Beats und deepe Chords auf. Sehr schön. by Carsten Becker
