SUGAR BEAT
With SUGAR BEAT's ingenious complement of Steffen's funky jazzy grooves
and Ralf's sound a unique style is being created. SUGAR BEAT started as
live-act of drummer Steffen Meder and DJ Ralf GUM, but developed as well
to a production team soon. The first tracks of SUGAR BEAT still have been
done as a trio including CrisP, but now the project only consists of Steffen and Ralf.
Steffen Meder studied all kinds of different musical forms extensively
without ever loosing his instinctively style of drumming. Provided with an
inexhaustible background, Steffen developed his incomparable style to play drums.
At SUGAR BEAT he is responsible for the tight live drum section.
Ralf GUM is responsible for the instrumentation and his love for a slick production.
As always Ralf's aim is to combine body & soul to a compact entirety. This can
contain everything from rolling baselines, groovy keys to the right percussion.
The main thing is the outcome - an irresistible fusion with one mesmerizing groove.
